We recently spent the day under the sunny skies of Sacramento. Our jewelry is carried by French Cuff Consignment, a fun shop in the heart of the popular Mid-town area. The store itself is in a beautiful old Victorian house, with a lovely second story porch to welcome you in. As charming as the store is, it’s owners Corey and Darcy are more so.
Second Saturday began with art museums staying open late on the second Saturday of the month. Didn’t take long before shops were staying open too. Very quickly the event grew from Saturday evening to the whole weekend. Now, every second weekend finds the fun crowds wandering downtown Sacramento from shop to restaurant to artist to artisan. From jewelry to original music, I was surprised at how my sleepy hometown has grown.
They were kind enough to invite us to set up second Saturday shop on their front porch. So we drove up from Los Angeles to show our wares -- and to visit family.
We made some sales, but apparently that particular Saturday was a slower day than usual. We’ll be going again though. It was really fun, and we don’t get to meet our customers in person very often.
