Tucson Gem Show
We just returned from what we’re told is the country’s largest gem and mineral show.
I can believe it. But we were grossly misinformed about one thing. It is not a single show. The entire town of Tucson is filled with shows and exhibits of product from around the world. Every major hotel conference center was filled, as were many actual hotel suites. Of course, the Convention Center was host to the most impressive show and sales, and the one show we couldn’t get in.
Nevertheless, we saw everything else, and of co urse we couldn’t come back empty-handed. Some of what we brought back we’re actually not keeping. Check out the new additions in our Special Finds category in our Store.
Shane brought back some rough opal for jewelry experiments. Maybe you’ll see it in our store one day. Micheal brought back a prehistoric fossil in stone. We’ll see what happens with that.
We especially enjoyed visiting with our deal friend Carol, and s eeing how she is progressing with her new condo in the Tucson foothills. After only a few months, she is loving Tucson, and Tucson seems to be loving her. She’s going to find it hard to leave for her home in California even if it is on the beach.
We found Tucson to be a friendly and pleasant place. Crowded because of the shows, it was still nothing to our LA-jaded eyes. It got awfully cold at night, but the days were glorious
